  • Unity House Emergency Shelter for woman and children. Phone: 780-743-1190.
  • Second Stage Housing for women and children that need increased security, subsidized housing and recovery support.
  • Next Steps Program provides women who are currently in shelter with a risk assessment for violence, safety planning, advocacy (court or agency) and goal setting.
  • Follow-Up Program provides on-going support, information and advocacy for clients who have either accessed the shelter or who have been externally referred.
  • Child Development Programs provide mothers with access to childcare, while they attend programming at the Waypoints.
  • Opportunities for Change Program is a psycho educational, process oriented program for males and females.. Phone: 780-791-5143.
  • Sexual Assault and Abuse Programs & Services provides support, education, advocacy & counselling to individuals affected by sexual violence. Phone: 780-743-4691, ext 232.
  • Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Community Awareness, Education and Prevention programs and events.
  • Fundraising for operations and our Stop the Hurting, Start the Healing capital campaign.

Fire Department Gives $75k Back to the Community

The Fort McMurray Fire Fighting Association went to 5 charities in Fort McMurray and gave a surprise visit. The Fire Fighters surprised them each with a cheque for $15,000. Shaw TV covered the action and the surprises were definitely unexpected.

The Stop the Hurting, Start the Healing Capital Campaign is in the last stretch with just $2 million to raise from the original $35 million budget to fund the future expansion of Waypoints to provide a continuum of support and accommodation to families affected by domestic violence.

The project consists of two components: an affordable housing component and an emergency shelter with ancillary services space component.
